Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh said Coto will develop eco-tourism resorts at the national standard in association with the tourism zone Van Don Island and will be an important site in the tourism system Halong - Cat Ba - Van Don- Coto - Mong Cai- Tra Co with diverse forms of tourism, sports and entertainment both on the sea and on the island. To achieve this goal, from now to 2015, the district has concentrated on building the complete set of essential infrastructures, particularly the high quality transport connections from island to the mainland and the power supply, water supply, telecommunications, required for the economic-social development.
On the next stage 2015 - 2020, the island district will concentrate on developing rapidly and sustainably the tourism towards the high quality ecotourism, suitable for the characteristics of marine tourism. In the coming time, Coto is going to develop the luxury high speed boats team to shorten the time from the mainland to the island, plan some major resorts on the island, to call for investment of the tourism development, sports and entertainment matched the release of community tourism .
