From Dien Bien Phu city, along the Highway 12 about 6km to the north, visitors will find the Men village. From a distance, Men village looks like a pretty picture with back leaning on mountain, facing to the vast plains. Standing out from the green of the trees and the blue of the sky is the traditional stilts houses of the ethnic Thai Den. Not only attracts tourists by its beautiful scenery, Men village has also the fresh air, cool, green, clean environment.
The village has more than 110 households with 500 inhabitants who all are the ethnic Thai Den. Thai Den people live by growing rice, crops, livestock and textiles, traditional brocade embroidery. In recent years, villagers have together been developing community tourism in association with the building of a civilized lifestyle, clean food, clean water, clean housing. With the right direction in the development of a sustainable community tourism Men village has not only become a great tourist destinations but also been able to preserve and to bring into play the traditional cultural identity. If previously, women weaved, embroidered just for families use, now that they also serve the needs of the tourists. Brocade products are usually pieces of cloth, pieu scarves or bags embroidered with the words "Tho Cam Ban Men Ky Niem" (Souvenir of Men village Brocade) to promote the culture to visitors. Along with weaving, brocade embroidery, Thai Den people still preserve the traditional architecture of the stilts house that formed their own practices in daily life as well as daily labor.

The stilts houses are usually set up with backs leant on the hills and mountains, front to the rivers, streams or fields, to the principle 'Son Chau Thuy Tu" (attend mountain, water gathering). The house are usually made of good wood, bamboo tubes and reed with four tile roofs. Roofs of the two gables of a house are in turtle shell dome architecture. In particular, on each column at both ends of a house are two wooden bars in X-shaped called "Khau Cut" with the decorative of trees, crescent moon.. to stop the wind as well as to have the religious worship of the moon God and the buffalo God. The upper part of a stilts house is used for the activities of the host family and guests, ground part is for the weavers, farming utensils, timber, firewood.. To ensure the stilts houses qualified for tourists, villagers have built new parts such as toilets, water tanks.. as well as a cultural house with traditional architecture to serve for community activities. Besides, to make an impression on visitors, Men villagers have founded a culinary team of 10 persons who are skilled in food processing and a performance team of 15 people who have beautiful, inspiring singing voice and beautiful dances.
 Come Men village, beside the opportunity to admire the natural surroundings in the Northwest, visitors also have the opportunity to experience the daily life of the people such as processing of traditional cuisine (stem wine, rice tube, grilled stream fish, bitter bamboo shoots, boiled buffalo meat with cham cheo source), breeding livestock and poultry, going into forest for firewood, down stream for fish, woven, brocade embroidery or participating in cultural activities (singing Thai folk song, Xoe dancing, fan dancing, booths dancing, fluting Pap Pi, Pi O).
With these continual efforts, Men village constantly achieve the title of provincial culture village and is the community tourism destination attractive to tourists, worthy of being a typical community tourism village in the economic development and building cultural life of Dien Bien province.
