New Ho Chi Minh exhibition opens

Kitchen and medical equipment that was used to serve President Ho Chi Minh during the 15 years he lived and worked at the Presidential Palace have been put on display at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area in Hanoi.

Showrooms were opened to the public by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to commemorate 55 years since the late President lived in the Presidential Palace (December 1954) until his death in 1969.

Hundreds of kitchen utensils which were used to serve the late president and late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong are included in the exhibit. During the time the president lived in the palace, the kitchen held warm receptions for domestic and international guests.

Medical equipment donated by the Central Military Hospital 108 which was used to treat President Ho during his final days in the 1969 is also on display.

Through the exhibition, visitors will gain deeper knowledge about the daily life and final days of President Ho. They will gain understanding and respect for the care which was provided by the Party, the State, and domestic and foreign doctors to Vietnam’s great revolutionary leader.

"Vestiges of the kitchen and medical equipment will play an important role in improving the value of the memorial area. Introducing these objects is necessary and meaningful to help visitors understand more about the great president," said Tran Chien Thang, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
