Community tourism development at Cau Ngoi bridge in Thanh Toan
The project "Community Tourism Development" is implemented by The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Hue. First place selected is the Cau Ngoi (bridge with tile) Thanh Toan with the tuor "rural fair in the festival". The bridge has long been a destination of many tourists via tour operators, especially in the Hue Festival. This tourist village is invested in infrastructure, the local people are trained in tourism and making income from the services.
Homestay tourism type in the ancient village of Phuoc Tich is also focused on investment and development. Along with the system of relics, pagodas, shrines, Champa monuments, traditional pottery, the village has also 40 Ruong houses (a kind of small house with no main column) which are relatively intact (over 100 years old).
The model of community tourism - "tourism business with the poor" is although new to the people but has been attractive to many visitors. This type of tourism is established mainly in rural areas, mountainous regions, where people incomes are low and living conditions are limited. The purpose of this type to engage low-income people with the tourism values chain, in the direction of mutual benefit. To the trade villages, this approach is the fastest, most attractive to sell the products, especially handicrafts, traditional fine arts, souvenirs for the tourists.
In the National Tourism Year 2012, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized 3 delegations with dozens of national and international travel firms to survey routes and tourist sites in Hue, including the systems associated to the relics of the ancient capital, new products such as building and upgrading ancient village of Phuoc Tich, tourist resort of Tan Thanh, trade village of Dong Kinh, martial arts village of Van An.. Accordingly, about 200 pedicabs in the city of Hue will be upgraded in design, costumes, knowledge for cyclo teams to improve the quality of service and promptly starting in the coming October 2012.
Visits associated with Hue rains
Based on the natural conditions, the characteristics of Hue, the project of building tourism products associated with rains is identified as very special and attractive. Accordingly, visitors will join the suitable sightseeing, enjoy Hue scenery on rainy days with outdoor leisure activities, go out in the rain by means of bicycles, pedicabs, dragon boats.. With the architecture of wood and glass, the warm atmosphere, Moc Mien is considered the ideal visiting point, suitable with rainy landscape of Hue. Thuy Tien lake will have the rain park with rain music garden, listening to the rain when feast in the houses on the hill sides..
