Visite the Nature Conservation Area Hon Ba - Cam Ranh

Hon Ba is located in the southwestern of Nha Trang city, with continuos mountains ranges at the absolute height of 1,578m
Hon Ba conservation area
On the territory of the four districts Khanh Vinh, Khanh Son, Dien Khanh and Lam Cam, it was on Hon Ba in 1914, the Doctor Alexandre Yersin created a biology laboratory, a climate camp and planted the Josephiana Cinchona tree, quinine for malaria treatment.

Hon Ba is 1.500m high, with a cool climate just like Dalat, with rain all year round, so that plants in Hon Ba mountains areas and Hon Ba forests are diverse and plentiful, ranging from tropical plants at the foothills to semi-temperate plants on the high.

Hon Ba is at about 30km from Nha Trang on the air but to travel on land it is more than 60km. From Highway 1A, at the Suoi Cat, Cam Lam district, turn to the mountain-foot path to begin the journey to conquer Hon Ba. The 37km path from Suoi Dau to the top of Hon Ba with elbow bends is to satisfy the passion of adventure.

At every stop, you will be delighted to admire a colorful picture of the country side Dien Khanh, Cam Lam. The higher, the cooler climate, unspoiled landscape with birds singing, murmuring streams.. Both sides are with immense primeval forest of high trees. You can easily see the mist caught on the large tree timbers. The exotic beauty of nature invites visitors to overcome the difficulties to arrive on Hon Ba.

According to the scientists, the conservation area has about 592 vascular plant species, 255 animal species, of which 41 plant species and 59 animal species are rare and with the names in Red Book.
