On the territory of the four districts Khanh Vinh, Khanh Son, Dien Khanh and Lam Cam, it was on Hon Ba in 1914, the Doctor Alexandre Yersin created a biology laboratory, a climate camp and planted the Josephiana Cinchona tree, quinine for malaria treatment.

The exotic beauty of nature invites visitors to overcome the difficulties to arrive on Hon Ba. According to the scientists, the conservation area has about 592 vascular plant species, 255 animal species, of which 41 plant species and 59 animal species are rare and with the names in Red Book.
